4th of July

The 4th brought a house full of visitors to our humble abode this year. We had people sleeping in every room of our tiny home except the kitchen and bathroom. While I do not wish to try to entertain that many people at once again, it was nice to visit with family. Lily loved hanging out with her cousin Nellie (and visiting with all the adults too). We kept our holiday weekend low key and tried to simply enjoy our time with visitors. One afternoon we took Lily and Nellie to the carousel in Hartford while the college students spent the day at the beach. I don't know that Lily had any strong feelings about the experience but I enjoyed it.

Lily got to meet her Aunt Kathy for the first time. Of course lots of pictures were taken. A couple of the shots taken even had smiles in them.

Most evenings were spent playing games after the little ones went to sleep. Tim got a chance to work on his grilling skills. He made some excellent burgers. The grilled corn on the cob was also a big hit.
Butter loved all of the extra attention she received from our visitors. Talk about a spoiled dog. She wore herself out just wandering from one person to another. Hopefully all the love will tide her over until next time.
