Feeling more like home

Tim was a good sport and worked with me all weekend to (re)paint the downstairs portion of our house. It only took a couple of months,a heated discussion, and 23 paint samples to decide on a color scheme. We are not even going to talk about the number of trips to the store before actually buying the paint. The lesson I took away from all of this was the importance of compromise in marriage. The painting took about four days and we finished three spaces: dining room, stairs/hallway, living room. After all the paint samples and drama we just flipped the colors in the rooms. The dining room was yellow and is now a fun green. The living room was green and is now a cheery, soft yellow. We still need to paint the trim and do some touch ups but it will still be here the next holiday weekend. I think it turned out well. (If you do not agree please do not tell me. We have had enough painting for a while.) Our house is feeling more like home everyday.

My friend Jenny told me about this blog called Young House Love. It's full of ideas, great photos, and the couple who write it even have a chihuahua named Burger. How fun!
