Snow Day

Today was our first really good snow of the season. Last night, in anticipation of the storm, our Bishop canceled church after the ward Christmas party. It would have been a lovely day of lounging around the house if it hadn't been for all of the sidewalks that required shoveling. Oh well, at least it was in time for Christmas. The snow is soft, fluffy, and looks lovely covering our frozen corner of the world.

In case you were wondering, Chihuahuas are not particularly fond of the snow or the cold. Before anything else happened today a small path was shoveled into the backyard to reveal a patch of frozen grass for the Butter's private usage. Any trips outside now require coats for people and the dog.

I got a couple of nice shots of the sunset this afternoon from the backyard (the sun sets here by 4:30pm now) . It was a nice day to say goodbye to Autumn and get ready for the first official day of Winter tomorrow. The sooner we get started with the Winter the sooner we will get to Spring and planting season!

We haven't been up to much lately other than anxiously waiting for Christmas. We made a giant gingerbread man a couple of days ago. Tim made sure to handicap it so as to avoid any quick cookie-get-aways.
