Tim and I began our Christmas Eve with a lovely candlelit dinner at home. We dressed up in our Sunday best and enjoyed a wonderful meal together of
butternut squash-apple soup (recipe from
Eating Well magazine), layered mashed potato & mushroom casserole, and baked ham. Of course there were also
cookies later in the evening. After dinner we hurried upstairs to change into our
Christmas pajamas and lounge around for the rest of the evening. Tim did manage to talk me into opening a couple of presents early. I will have to strengthen my resolve for next year. Now it's time for bed. We will have to wait to see if Santa brings us anything sweet to fill our stockings! Merry Christmas Eve all!
