Toll Roads, Easter Eggs, and Good Southern Food

Tim and I decided to pack up our little family and drive to North Carolina for Easter. Relatives were getting anxious to meet Lily and it was a good excuse to head for warmer weather (Spring is taking it's time getting to Connecticut this year). I think one of Tim's favorite things about me is that I am from a beach town in the South. Trips home to visit my side of the family basically guarantee a trip to the beach, southern bbq, and a good meal at Grandma's house. We made sure to check all of those things off our list during our visit and as an added bonus we got some quality time with family. Unfortunately I did not always remember to pull out my camera during family time but I did manage to get a few good photos.

Of course no road trip through the mid-atlantic states would be complete without a stop at Wawa for sandwiches and stuffed pretzels. I know it is a gas station but they do have really good sandwiches. Actually I think we stopped just for the sandwiches and didn't even purchase gas. Tim talks about moving back to PA/ DE area just because he misses Wawa.

Tim's brother and sister-in-law, John and Valerie, were nice enough to let us crash with them in Virginia for a few nights in the midst of our travels to North Carolina and back to Connecticut. Lily and Nellie finally got to meet each other and seemed to get along just fine (actually they are still too young to care but we sure had fun watching them). Valerie took some cute pictures of these two during our visits but you have to visit their blog to seem them here, here, and here.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! Next year I might even remember to take a picture of Lily in her Easter dress. Let's hope anyway...
